The children are encouraged to widen their horizons and interests by taking up hobbies and pursuing extra-curricular activities. A variety of clubs meet during the lunch time break or after school. Currently there is a French club as well as musical tuition (recorders, violin and percussion).
There are also football, netball, cricket and rounders training sessions and matches at various times of the year. Swimming is offered to all Year 3 children during school time and we try to take any older children who are still non swimmers.
These sports are run by teachers and parents. In a number of these sports we have competitive teams participating regularly on an inter-school basis and against other schools throughout Berkshire. In football we have an 11 aside and two six aside teams; in netball we run two teams, one A and one B, and we also have a cricket team. To help in the delivery of all aspects of PE, all members of the teaching staff have required knowledge and attend training courses as necessary.
Report 2003
The netball A-Team reached the final of the Catholic School's tournament, and the B-team reached the semi-final play-offs at the Woodley Carnival Netball Tournament. This year the netball club has been very popular.

Cricket Report 2003
Two teams took part in the Woodley Junior Kwik Cricket Tournament, and the A-side played in the Wokingham round of the Berkshire Kwik Cricket Tournament, where they won one match and narrowly lost another two. The opportunity was greatly enjoyed by the children.
Rugby Report 2003
Year 5 and 6 children took part in the first ever rugby tournament for primary schools in Wokingham; the A-team came second in their league and the B-team finished fourth in theirs.
Facilities and Community Links
We are able to offer an excellent range of facilities. These include two purpose-built halls - one infant and one junior, two large playgrounds and a very large playing field. Through our sporting activities we have a number of links with the local community. Our field and hall are used by local organisations which include junior football and judo clubs and adult keep fit groups.
Other community links include visiting coaches in football and basketball, and children from local secondary schools working with teachers. We also take part in fund-raising activities for sports with the Superschools organisation.
